The Langley Farm Team nipped the Santa Fe Trailer Bitches 8 to 7 at Covert Ops
Field in a hard fought contest.
Jeff Keppinger helped send the fans home happy. He doubled scoring a run in
the 3rd inning, bombed a two-run dinger (his 4th of the season) in the 5th
inning and doubled bringing in a run in the 7th inning. Santa Fe made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Jose Arredondo(2-1) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win.
Mariano Rivera got the save, his 13th. David Bush(3-4) was the loser in
relief. He pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits and no walks.
Despite losing Dennis Martin was optimistic after the game. 'We'll get over
this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't. Any one
of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
